The Elinchrom Reflector 21 cm produces a medium light spread with a harder, more contrasty character. Combined with the included 30° grid, the light becomes more concentrated, making it easier to illuminate selected parts of the scene without unwanted spill across the full setup.

This set is especially useful when you want to emphasise details in your subject, create a controlled pool of light in the background or add shape and separation with directed light. The result is a more precise workflow and greater creative freedom, both in the studio and in structured portrait setups.

Flexible light shaping

The reflector can be used for direct lighting or together with Elinchrom umbrellas for indirect light. If you need even narrower control, 20° and 12° grids are also available. It is also compatible with the Elinchrom Barndoor Kit when you want to shape the light further or work with filters.

Example of use

Place the flash with reflector and grid behind the subject and aim the light towards the head and shoulders to create separation from the background. Use a reflector in front of the subject to bounce light back into the face for a more balanced setup. Depending on how narrow you want the beam to be, you can choose between 12°, 20° or 30° grids.

Tip

For warmer portraits, you can use a colour filter together with the reflector. Turn off the modelling lamp when working with filters for longer periods to reduce the risk of overheating.
